More on Plastic, with Richard Thompson

This week I caught the bulk of a topic on Radio 4 regarding Plastic pollution with Richard Thompson. Thompson is a Professor of Marine Biology, “his work on plastics in cosmetics led to a UK ban on micro-beads in shower gels and exfoliating scrubs [something I have blogged about before]. And he advised government to ban single use plastic bags from supermarkets.” [Continue reading]

The cost of war…

I’m pretty sure I had a post referring to two proposed building projects (tunnels/bridges) with price tags of £100 million each;  like that was a figure they throw on anything. Anyway, I can’t find the details, but here are some more… [Click here to continue reading]

Orchid or a Dandelion – Pt.2 – Thriving

As I began to explain in my previous post, the introduction to this topic, I’m considering now, with the perspective of hindsight (because I didn’t recognise these things back then) that my own childhood began with bereavement-induced stress, but there were other stresses too, leading me to be what Dr Tom Boyce might label as an Orchid child, and now as an adult, simply an Orchid. Orchid or Dandelion – Pt.1 – Which are you?

This is the first in a sequence of posts for which I have titled “Orchid or Dandelion” but becomes more about the former throughout the series and includes other concepts also. So let’s begin. [Read the full post here]
